“Mommy? Mommy!”
Athena jumped out of the thoughts she was in after hearing Ace’s loud voice, calling her. She looked at him with widened eyes
and found him looking at her with a confused frown and a cute little pout. An apologetic smile immediately came up on her face.
“I am so sorry, baby! Mommy was thinking something.” She apologised while kissing his cute nose, making him giggle. She
laughed seeing his scrunched up nose and kissed it again.
“What do you think, mommy?” He asked in a cute and confused tone as he looked up at her from the kitchen slab where he was
sitting at that moment.
They were currently in the kitchen, preparing dinner together. She was cooking while her cute little bundle of happiness and joy
was giving her company.
‘I don’t want you to cut your finger, so I will watch you cook.’ He said so when she tried to make him watch the cartoon so that
she could cook. But couldn’t deny his demand after he presented it so cutely.
She can’t imagine her life without him! Goddess knows what will happen to her if she ever has to stay away from him!
“Nothing important, baby.” She said before turning at the stove to look at the lasagna she was cooking for dinner.
She heard from Patricia that lasagna is Dominic’s favourite food. Hence she was cooking his favourite food, thinking that might
cheer up his mood a little bit.
come out for lunch or had lunch. She tried to call him but he shut her off completely. She felt hurt and empty. But still kept her
ego to herself which didn’t let her accept that she wanted his attention.
There she goes again. Lost in his thoughts. She didn’t know if this was the mate bond or something else but the level of irritation
and bothered she was feeling can’t be explained in words. She just wanted him to act normal. She just wanted him to be back to
his previous way, even if that means becoming his cold and rude way. At least he was interacting with her somehow then!
“I know what you’re thinking, mommy.” Ace suddenly spoke up, taking her attention to him. She was a little taken aback by the
serious look on his face.
She just realised how similar he looked to Dominic at that moment. Even though Ace looked a lot like her, his expressions made
him look like a splitting copy of Dominic. He was an angry young man like his father, the thought made her smile.
His smile, his expressions, his reaction and everything, it was enough to let the whole world know whose son he was. He didn’t
need the scent to prove that and she could say Dominic had noticed it all as well before finding out about the truth. But he didn’t
say anything because she didn’t let him even have those thoughts.
But the longer Ace was staying with Dominic and growing up, the more he was becoming like his father!
She turned off the gas and put the pot down. Then she poured it in a serving bowl before giving her attention back to her son..
The dinner was ready. She needs to try her luck once again in calling Dominic. If he doesn’t come out this time, she was going to
either use Ace to coax him out or break down the door and pull him out.
“I see, you know what I am thinking, huh?” She asked in a playful tone before picking him up in his arms and looking at him with
“Yes, mommy.” He said with a mysterious glint in his eyes which made her look at him with a raised eyebrow.
“So, tell me what I am thinking. Share it with mommy.” She said with a smile before picking up a dish with her other hand
carefully She was wearing a glove which was preventing the heat of the hot bowl from reaching her hand a little. She needed to
walk inside the dining room fast before she lost her grip over it and it fell all over the ground.
She checked everything inside the kitchen once again before turning around to leave. Then she walked out of the kitchen with
Ace and a dish in her hands. As it was already dinner time, she was setting up the dining table.
“You won’t be angry?” Ace asked after a lot of thinking over if he should share this with her or not. She looked at him with
squinted eyes even though there was a smile at the corner of her lisp. Her son was getting smarter with his words everyday. He
was considering her temper before talking!
“You are getting so smart, huh? Naughty kid! Tell me, what’s going on in your little cute head. I will not be angry. I can never get
angry at you, my baby “She said with a big smile as she landed a side kiss on his forehead while walking still.
“You are thinking of my super hero, right?” Ace suddenly spoke up out of nowhere.
She was doing things very casually and she wasn’t ready for this innocent question from her son The question made her stop on
her way abruptly She didn’t realize when her one leg got tangled with another and before she knew it, the dish was slipping away
from her hand and she was falling down
Her eyes widened and the only thing that came to her mind at that moment was to save Ace from the fall So she didn’t think of
anything else and let go of the dish completely and embraced Ace tightly, ready to take all the pain for her That’s when she heard
someone shouting,
“CAREFULI”
