Spoiled by Eight Uncles (Lily)

Lilly found herself back at the orphanage once again.

Her tiny figure appeared lonely and fragile as she huddled in a corner on the steps.

The iron gate that kept her confined stood before her like an imposing warning. Meanwhile, the tree had shed all its leaves in preparation for winter, leaving its branches bare.

Lilly hugged herself tightly in response to the chill as she buried her face in her arm.

"Grandma... I'm so cold. I'm starving." Lilly sobbed. "What do | have to do to leave this place?" The Test of Thunder had destroyed the small courtyard where Elder McCarthy lived in the Nether.

The test had blasted a massive pit into the ground. Fortune paid no attention to the crater as he cried beside Lisa's unmoving body.

Lisa was barely clinging to life as her weary eyes stared blankly at the sky.

She would never forget the scene she had just witnessed. It was as if the Test of the Nine Heavens Thunder had descended as the shadow of the legendary Sea-Wyvern, stretching for thousands of miles, had rushed into Lilly's body.

The ground had exploded while Ivan held Lilly tightly.

Unfortunately, even though he could protect her from the thunder, he couldn't defend her against the countless phantom beasts.

Ivan's face was covered in blood toward the end. His arms and back had been shredded by their unforgiving claws. Frankly, he was drenched in blood.

"Lilly! Lilly!" Ivan called out her name softly. Alas, Lilly kept her eyes closed and wouldn't wake up.

Elder hurried over and found Ivan and Lilly in the pit. He hastily removed the rubble from Ivan's body.

"What's wrong with Lilly?!" Ivan was in agony as he murmured, "I don't know..." "Well, we should get out of here before doing anything else!" Elder led a few people away and finally settled in a clan member's house.

Elder examined Lilly carefully but couldn't figure out what had happened.

"Her condition is very similar to something the witch clan tends to experience. It looks like her soul has left her body." Elder frowned as he continued sternly, "Although we're technically immortal, we still die. Once the time comes, our soul will leave our body. Then, we will achieve 'death.™ Ivan stared at Lilly.

He examined her closely with his spiritual consciousness and denied Elder's diagnosis, saying, "Her soul is still there." It didn't seem like it had left her body.

Instead, it seemed to have been sealed.

Someone has used all the souls of the beasts in the Nether to seal her soul.

Ivan raised his head to look at the gray sky outside the window. It seemed utterly calm at the moment. It was as if it hadn't been raining thunder earlier.

"Despicable!" He gritted his teeth.

Fortune asked fearfully, "What should we do now?" Lilly was gone! He couldn't help another round of wails.

Lucky still hadn't recovered from the shock. The heavenly thunder that had struck them was just too terrifying! To make matters worse, some members of the witch tribe were starting to second-guess their decision to allow Lisa to stay. Even though Lisa was a descendant of the witch tribe, she had caused a great deal of trouble after her return.

They wanted to drive her away lest more misfortune befall them. Fortunately, some descendants of the witch tribe held opposing views. As a result, she managed to stay.

Duncan trembled as he tried to piece Lisa's body together. He stammered, "Can she still survive after being shattered into so many pieces?" Asher scolded him in a low growl, "Are you stupid? We aren't humans in the first place.” Humans would definitely die if they were struck by lightning.

Duncan said, "Still, she fractured into so many fragments.” Only one of Lisa's upper arms had remained intact after that terrifying ordeal. Plus, everything below her elbow had been severed.

Her other arm had been blown apart.

Both her feet were a bloody mess. So, it took them a long time to piece her back together.

Her body was in a far worse condition than Ivan's. She was barely clinging to life. They could barely hear her breathing.

"I'll take Lilly home," Ivan said as he picked her up. He gritted his teeth in resentment as he hissed, "We shouldn't have come to the Nether." The black hole shouldn't have appeared in the Human Realm. Yet, it did.

After that entire debacle, it was clear that Lisa's time hadn't come. Instead, it was simply a trap to lure Lilly over.

Nonetheless, he knew that no one was to blame for Lilly's condition. It was a fact that Lisa's time was right around the corner. So, she did have to make a trip to the Nether soon. Besides, she had indeed broken through the first layer and would face calamity within these few days.

Although they had noticed that the Test of Thunder was acting rather abnormally, they had brushed it off, thinking, What if it's acting this way because Lisa has fully recovered and her strength has reached its peak? Therefore, they neglected this glaring loophole. It was a fact that the stronger the individual, the more powerful the Test of Thunder they had to face. Moreover, they were in the Nether. None of them had any idea what the Test of Thunder in the Nether was like. It was impossible to compare it with the Test of Thunder that Lilly had passed in the underworld.

What a well-calculated plan! "We can't leave." Elder stopped Ivan. "We have to pass the black hole if we want to journey home. Can she afford to pass through that turbulent journey safely?" They couldn't deny the fact that a massive incident had occurred in the Nether even though Radley was around. What if a trap was waiting for them in the unknown black hole?! Ivan was caught between a rock and a hard place.

In the end, he could only stay in the Nether as he didn't want to jeopardize Lilly's safety.

Thus, he sent Radley to find Blake.

Blake would naturally seek out Earth Goddess, Emperor Eastmount, and King Earthid.

It seemed that the war, which had been on the horizon, had come to their doorstep early.

"Lilly! Lilly?" A voice called out in her ear once again.

Lilly slowly opened her eyes.

She didn't know who was calling out to her. Nonetheless, she had become very familiar with those unfamiliar voices.

Initially, it was merely a voice of a young man. After a while, it was followed by a few more. However, there was no denying the chime-like quality of their young voices.

There were also several female voices calling her name.

Lilly's head was throbbing. She could sense that she had forgotten some people. Alas, she couldn't remember who they were at all.

Even the faces of the Crawford family were gradually fading from her memory.

"No... This won't do." The Crawford family, who had their roots in South City, had returned to Clodston after she discovered Polly's weakness.

She had to go to Clodston! She needed to find the Crawford family!
