Chapter 264 Dagger Beak Falcons

At Spindle Hills, Arthur had two bounties he needed to do. First was the Twin Tailed Lizards and the second was the Hammer Head Oxes.

He was the most interested in the first one, but wouldn't mind if he discovered the Hammer Head Oxes at the same time as well. Regardless of when he encountered them, the result would be the same.

"Can you smell them Brambles?" Arthur questioned. "Or any other creatures?"

Other than the two beasts Arthur was hunting, there were several more mobs that were present in the Spindle hills, with one of them being particularly annoying.

"KIHI!" Brambles responded almost immediately, having smelled them.

~CAW~

"Of course it's those birds." Arthur didn't even need to hear Bramble's response as he heard the cry of the enemies.

Looking at the sky, he saw three birds flying towards him with a furious look in their eyes. They had long black beaks and dark brown feathers. Their legs were yellow, and were tipped with hooked claws.

The Dagger Beak Falcon was one of the flying enemies that would pose great trouble to the players who were trying to go to the Oxal Mountains would encounter.

Since they could fly and the players could not, they would have a bad time. This was the same for the ranged players like the Archers and mages, as they too would have issues with actually being able to hit the birds.

They were faster than the average mob, which combined with their flight made it hard for them to hit. After all, they could dodge in all three dimensions.

Not to mention, if the players didn't notice them early on or were occupied by multiple of them, they could very well get hit by their Dive peck, which could easily be lethal.

'I'm barely at the entrance and there's already two of them. If they came this far, it means the other areas are already being occupied by the others.' Arthur quickly realized.

"Doesn't matter, they'll die in the end too." Arthur said before thrusting with the Key Spear twice in a row.

"CAW—" First incoming Dagger Beak Falcon barely managed to dodge the attack, but the second one did not have the same fortune.

Brambles swatted the first Dagger Beak Falcon with his horn, breaking both its wings as well as its legs in one go. The bird fell to the ground like a rag doll and could only cry in pain, unable to move.

~SLICK~

Arthur swung the Key Spear while the second Dagger Beak Falcon was still stuck in it, hanging from its wing. This caused the bird to slide against its blade and injured it further.

>Dagger Beak Falcon has been crippled and lost the ability to fly!<

This bird became unable to fly as well and was soon finished off without mercy.

With the two birds killed, Arthur stored their mangled corpses in the Night's Abyssal Cloak and moved on.

"Keep an eye out for them, Brambles. There'll be more of them." Arthur warned before doing the same.

The two moved through the Spindle Hills and encountered more of the Dagger Beak Falcons. This time in larger groups of five to eight. But Arthur had no time dealing with them with the help of Brambles.

When they encountered a large group that was bunched together, Brambles would simply use Draconid's Breath and burn all of them in one go.

And when they were spread around, but still in a line Arthur used the Spear Coating with Water Slicer Spell, causing multiple of them to get injured.

Like this, the two continued hunting the Dagger Beak Falcons in their search for the Twin Tailed Lizards.

It wasn't until an hour later that they finally encountered a Twin Tailed Lizard. Or rather than encounter, the two of them actually spotted one in the middle of its hunt.

"There it is." Lin Mu looked up at one of the hills.

The Spindle Hills were rather narrow and thin, which made it easier for flying beasts like the Dagger Beak Falcons to make nests on them. They used the outcroppings from the side of the spindle shaped hills and built nests on them.

This allowed them decent safety and kept their eggs away from most predators. This was also the reason why these beasts had managed to proliferate so much in the Spindle Hills.

But there was one creature that liked to hunt the Dagger Beak Falcons, and this was none other than the Twin Tailed Lizards these lizards would climb the vertical hills and sneak up on the nests while the owners were away.
